Travel to Scotland

IMPORTANT: American visitors to the UK now need ETAs prior to travel. Please remember to arrange ahead of time.

Edinburgh Airport is the closest choice. There are relatively few direct flights from JFK to EDI, so we would recommend booking in advance! Otherwise, there are many more options changing through Heathrow.

Alternatively you could fly to Glasgow Airport - just over an hour away.

If you are getting the train, the closest train station is Edinburgh Waverley.

Where should we stay?

We would recommend staying in Edinburgh city centre, as we will be providing transport from the city to the wedding venue, and back in the evening.

We will also share some hotel suggestions soon! In the meantime, we would recommend looking for hotels within 10-15 minutes walk of St Andrew’s Square.

How do we get to the wedding?

We will provide transportation to and from the wedding for guests coming in from Edinburgh city centre. We will also provide transportation between the ceremony and reception.  Details on timing and location for collection and drop off to follow.

Should you wish to drive or get a taxi, the church is around 30 minutes from the city centre. Penicuik Estate is around 25 minutes from the church, and 35 minutes back into the city.

If you are using taxis, we would strongly recommend pre-booking. There is no Uber outside Edinburgh.

Is there parking available?

There is limited parking available at the church and reception venue. please let us know if you would prefer to bring a car and we will confirm if there is sufficient capacity.

What should I wear?

Dress code for Friday & Saturday to follow!

Please note that the weather in Scotland in March is… variable. We would recommend having a warm coat available, and bringing waterproofs if you intend to explore.
